An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join a fast-growing organisation with ambitious plans for its expanding retail division, looking after 25+ sites.

This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, with regular exposure to senior leadership. It offers the chance to take full ownership of the division's financial performance, shape its future direction, and play a pivotal role in driving profitable growth.

Over the initial 3 month period the successful candidate will spend 2/3 days per week in the new retail division based in The Midlands, all expenses will be covered. This will enable the Finance Business Partner to fully immerse themselves in the retail division and maximise their effectiveness.

What you'll be doing

  • Act as a trusted partner to the leadership team, providing financial, commercial, and operational insight.
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for the retail division's financials, supporting the management team in driving growth and development.
  • Own and manage 25+ P&Ls, presenting and explaining performance and variances with clarity.
  • Build strong working relationships with the Head of Retail and Area Managers.
  • Develop KPIs and performance targets to measure and improve success.
  • Play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and medium-term planning.
  • Work with IT and business analysts to enhance systems, reporting tools, and data visibility.
  • Manage detailed property schedules and ensure cost discipline across the division.
  • Support retail sites at a local level, analysing performance and sharing best practice to drive profitability.

What we're looking for

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or close to qualification.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate numbers into meaningful insight.
  • Energetic, ambitious, and passionate about delivering improvements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Strong IT and numerical skills, with the ability to improve systems and processes.
  • Previous experience in retail, multi-site, or consumer-facing businesses is highly desirable.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
