Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide high-quality support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other health challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition.
  • Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or activities.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Support clients with behaviour management strategies as needed.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction.
  • Provide care for individuals with specific needs such as hospice care or heavy lifting assistance.

Experience

  • Previous experience in caregiving roles, particularly in assisted living or nursing home environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer's and dementia care practices is highly desirable.
  • Experience in providing patient care within a home care setting is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of first aid procedures and basic medical terminology is beneficial.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as required.
  • Experience in childcare may also be considered an asset for this role.
