About the role

As a Proposal Writer, you'll enable our Commercial teams to win the right work by scoping projects, building accurate ballparks and costings, drafting compelling proposals, and issuing change orders for signed deals. You'll coordinate inputs across scientific, clinical, and data functions, engage directly with clients when needed, and ensure every deliverable is compliant with GxP guidelines and internal SOPs.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead the end‑to‑end creation of ballparks, costings, and written proposals for selected opportunities.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather technical and operational inputs; validate assumptions and timelines.
  • Manage RFPs to third‑party vendors; source and compile information to fulfil client requirements.
  • Populate bid grids with complete, consistent, and auditable data aligned to client templates.
  • Draft and cost change orders for signed projects and maintain clear, timely client communications.
  • Complete required training for proposal writers within the assigned commercial line.
  • Support Strategic Partnerships with client‑specific training; prepare proposals, ballparks, and change orders; attend relevant internal calls.
  • Drive efficiency by identifying, documenting, and implementing improvements to costing and proposal processes.

Skills required

  • Education: Minimum BSc in Life Sciences.
  • Domain knowledge: Sound understanding of Phase 1/2 programme conduct (e.g., pharmaceutical sciences, clinical operations, data sciences).
  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to translate complex science into clear, client‑ready content.
  • Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Compliance mindset: Confident working to GxP guidelines with strong attention to accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ways of working: Detail‑focused, deadline‑driven, collaborative, and commercially aware.
