Ecology Community Branch Manager

Port Macquarie, New South Wales, United Kingdom Ecology Building Society Full time

Be a Pioneer with Ecology Building Society

Are you ready to be a pioneer?

If you're passionate about people, community, and positive impact – and you're excited by the chance to lead Ecology's very first Community Branch – we'd love to hear from you.

We are now recruiting for our very first Ecology Community Branch Manager in Porth

Help shape the future of ethical banking in Wales.

This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to lead the very first Ecology Community Branch – our pioneer branch in Porth.

Never heard of us? Don't worry At Ecology Building Society, we exist to do things differently. In a world that doesn't always add up, we use the power of finance to help people, communities, and the planet thrive. Our Community Branch model is an innovative, people-first way of delivering value locally – bringing ethical finance, practical support, and positive impact right into the heart of the community.

Now, we're looking for a passionate, community-minded Ecology Community Branch Manager to bring this vision to life.

About the role:

As Branch Manager, you'll take full ownership of the Porth Community Branch experience – leading a small team, building strong local partnerships, and ensuring every visitor feels supported, welcomed, and valued.

You'll be the face of Ecology in the community, helping to raise awareness of our mission, supporting customers with their savings and mortgages, and working with local organisations to deliver real, positive impact across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

This is a key role in the success of our new branch model – your ideas, energy, and leadership will help shape how Ecology grows in the future.

You can view the full job description and requirements of the role on our website: or contact [email protected] with any queries.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead and inspire the branch team, creating a warm, supportive and professional environment

• Ensure the branch operates safely, securely, and in line with Ecology policies

• Build strong relationships with local organisations, partners, and community groups

• Raise the profile of Ecology and our ethical products in the local area

• Support customers through reviews, outbound calls, and tailored conversations

• Oversee community activity, including information sessions and the Branch Community Grant process

• Work closely with Head Office teams to ensure smooth operations and strong collaboration

• Represent the pioneer branch in future branch rollout projects

Most importantly, you'll help make Ecology's values real for the people of Porth and beyond.

Who we're looking for:

Essential:

• A positive, can-do attitude that reflects Ecology's values

• Strong customer focus and communication skills

• Excellent organisation and attention to detail

• Confidence using your initiative to solve problems

• Experience in financial services and customer service

• Welsh speaking

Desirable:

• Knowledge of savings and mortgage products

• Good IT skills (Word, Excel, etc.)

This is a role for someone who believes in ethical finance, community connection, and doing business in a better way.

Why join Ecology?

Because here, you're not just managing a branch – you're building something new.

You'll be part of an organisation that:

• Champions fairness, openness, responsibility, cooperation and activism

• Cares deeply about people, communities, and the planet

• Encourages you to Own Your Impact, Deliver Together, Lead With Care, and Dare To Be Different

• Empowers you to make meaningful, local change
