We're looking for an Online Officer to take the lead on managing our websites, intranet and wider online presence. You'll be at the heart of our digital delivery - making sure our content is relevant, accessible and engaging, and that our platforms support the needs of all our audiences and teams.

You'll be part of a small, friendly, forward-thinking Communications team, working in one of the most inspiring landscapes in the UK.

We operate a hybrid way of working combining working from home and days at our office base at Wayfaring House, Kendal. You'll be provided with a laptop to enable you to access our secure IT network when working remotely.

The role

Your main duties and responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage the Authority's websites and online presence: you'll oversee our main website, intranet and microsites - keeping them fresh, functional and user-friendly.
  • Digital Innovation: you'll explore new technologies and partnerships to help us reach more people
  • Online Service Delivery: you'll work with teams across the Authority to make sure our digital platforms meet business and statutory needs
  • Performance and insight: you'll use data and analytics to monitor performance, inform improvements and shape future digital projects.
  • You'll play a key role in the wider Communications team to deliver our strategy.

  • A creative eye for content and a passion for making it work online
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with experience using tools like Google Analytics
  • A collaborative approach, with the confidence to lead training and support colleagues
