More details

Are you a creative communicator with a passion for social media and the great outdoors? If so, we'd love to welcome you to our Communications team as our new Social Media and Digital Assistant.

From crafting scroll-stopping accessible content, collaborating with creators and building an engaged online community, you'll bring our brand to life across our social channels and turn big ideas into bold moments online and beyond. You'll be the voice behind our posts, the eyes on the trends and play a key role in inspiring the next generation to care for one of the world's most stunning landscapes.

What's it like to work here?

Our people of the Park are passionate about the landscape and proud of the work we do to look after it and help people enjoy it. We are innovative and agile in our approach to work, ensuring we get the best from our resources.

We're a medium size organisation, which puts us in a good position to be adaptive and able to act on our decisions. What's more, our staff know each other and can quickly form workplace relationships to make great team players and problem solvers.

This is a brilliant opportunity to help shape the digital presence of the organisation that manages one of the UK's most iconic landscapes. You'll be part of a small, supportive, creative team working to connect people with nature, heritage and community.

We operate a hybrid way of working combining working from home and days at our office base at Wayfaring House, Kendal. You'll be provided with a laptop to enable you to access our secure IT network when working remotely.

The role

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Content creation: you'll manage our monthly social media calendar and create scroll-stopping content - from reels and carousels to gifs and graphics
  • Community building: you'll help grow and nurture our online communities by responding to comments and messages
  • Digital innovation: you'll be hungry to stay on top of trends, algorithms and best practices to bring fresh ideas to the team
  • Communications support: you'll work with colleagues across the Authority on a range of outputs, including photo and video shoots, email marketing, design and printed materials and website content
  • Analytics and reporting: you'll monitor performance and help shape future plans using data and insights.

About you

You'll bring:

  • Experience managing social media content plans and creating engaging posts across platforms
  • A strong eye for detail and design, with skills in Canva or similar tools
  • A proactive, enthusiastic approach and a love for storytelling
  • Great communication and planning skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • A collaborative attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.

Please read the attached role profile for the full person specification on this post.
