Lunch Cover Practitioner

Part-Time, 5 Days per Week (11:45 am – 2:45 pm, 15 hours per week)

We are looking for a warm, reliable, and enthusiastic Lunch Cover Practitioner to join our friendly team at The Wildflowers Nature Nursery. This part-time role is ideal for someone who loves working with young children and enjoys being part of a nurturing, nature-based environment.

As a Lunch Cover Practitioner, you will support the nursery team during the busy lunchtime period, helping with children's meals, rest times, and play activities. You'll play a vital part in maintaining our calm, caring atmosphere while ensuring the smooth running of the children's daily routines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children with their lunch and rest routines.
  • Supervise and engage children in calm, creative, and nature-based afternoon activities.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a positive and nurturing atmosphere.
  • Follow nursery policies on safeguarding, health, and safety.

Skills and Experience

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (required or working towards).
  • Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certificate – training will be provided if needed.
  • Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or similar setting (preferred).
  • A kind, patient, and dependable nature with a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.

Hours and Benefits

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:45 am – 2:45 pm (15 hours per week)
  • Contract: Part-time, permanent
  • Training: Ongoing professional development and PFA training provided
