We are recruiting for an energetic Café Assistant to join our friendly Front of House team in our constantly evolving food and retail business.

Our busy Café, located at the heart of the Garden Centre, seats a maximum of 200 hungry diners, all of whom will require a courteous, friendly, and efficient service from our Café Assistants.

Please note this role will require the ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering any questions about the menu or cafe policies.
  • Serving beverages and brunch style food.
  • Handling cash transactions, processing payments, and providing accurate change to customers.
  • Operating cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Keeping the cafe clean and organised, including wiping down tables, counters, and equipment, as well as sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Ensuring that condiment stations and dining areas are well-stocked and tidy.

Hours of Work

  • 2-4 shifts per week and will include working at least one weekend day
  • Average shift length is 7 hours scheduled between 9am - 5pm
  • All shifts include a 30-minute unpaid break

Pay rates:

Our pay rates vary depending on age:

  • Ages 16–17: £7.88 per hour
  • Ages 18–20: £10.10 per hour
  • Ages 21 and over: £12.35 per hour

About Us
