ServiceMaster Restore is a specialist cleaning company working in the private and commercial sector covering all aspects of cleaning and maintenance.

We are recruiting a Restoration/Cleaning Technician to join our busy Restore & Clean departments.

You must be a reliable, hard working individual with a proactive attitude who is happy to work on their own initiative. This role would suit a presentable person who has great communication skills. You MUST be able to drive to apply for this role.

The job involves working within our Restore department which provides emergency fire, flood and malicious damage clear up services to local councils, water boards and insurers. The work involves attending properties to carry out emergency flood clear up including sewage. Clearance of properties along with inventory taking. Sanitising and extraction. Uplifting floor coverings. Disposals at waste transfer stations. Fire cleans. Gutter, graffiti and window cleaning. Malicious damage clear up including blood and faeces. Sharps removal and disposal. The job also involves working in our Clean department which provides deep cleans, ad hoc sparkle & builders cleans, carpet & upholstery cleaning, hard floor strip and reseals, bio-cleans, window cleaning, communal cleaning.

Please note this is a manual role and will involve some heavy lifting.

Training

Experience within the cleaning industry is preferred and full training will be provided however any of the following will be an advantage. You must be willing to complete training in all of the below:

  • Manual Handling
  • First Aid At Work
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Health & Safety
  • Working at height and ladder safety
  • Enhanced DBS check

Schedule

The hours of work are typically Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm with a minimum of 16 hours per week but an average week is normally between hours. Due to the reactive nature of the work we operate with some degree of flexibility on the working hours to enable us to cover 'out of hours' jobs or occasional weekend work. Any emergency work undertaken is paid at double time. We operate a weekend emergency call out rota and you will be required to be on this rota at least once per month. We pay a retainer of £45.00 per weekend to be on call.
