Oliver James are representing a leading Employee Benefits provider who are looking to strengthen their Scheme Underwriting team.

This business has recently undergone a period of change to strengthen and grow it's commercial function. You will be joining an incredibly supportive and innovative environment where you can develop your underwriting career.

The business are looking to hire BOTH
experienced Scheme Underwriters,
AND
Junior Underwriters
with limited experience but looking to develop.

In this role you will be responsible for underwriting Group Life and Group income protection quotations for renewals and new business.

The business will offer the highest quality training to support junior underwriters with their career progression.

Location:
Brighton

Office Policy:
2 days per week in the office

Example Responsibilities

  • Responsible for underwriting Group Life and/or Group Income Protection quotations for renewals and new business.
  • Build strategic relationships within Sales, Actuarial and other business departments.
  • Represent the Underwriting department by supporting key Client Relationship meetings along with Business Development Managers.
  • Provide technical underwriting support to the Sales team, where appropriate

Experienced Scheme Underwriter – Required Experience

  • Experience in an Underwriting Function. Any sector can be considered with employee benefits being highly desirable.
  • Experience working with Brokers
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers and internal stakeholders.

Associate Scheme Underwriter – Required Experience

  • Experience within Insurance or Financial Services
  • Ideally underwriting experience but the company is happy to interview applicants with strong ambition to move into underwriting
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
