Head of Sales – Educational Lighting

Homebased, National Role, UK

SpotLIGHT of the job

We are recruiting for a Head of Sales for our Education sector, in particular, Universities and Colleges. The aim is to deliver growth across all regions of the UK and Ireland by developing relationships and sector knowledge to gain an increased market share with improved visibility of ZG presence making us the partner of choice.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to & deliver the Go To Market approach plan and best in class Execution within the education sector.
  • Drive existing company Strategies i.e Efficiency /Carbon/Circular Economy/Student Wellness etc whilst gaining a full understanding of competitors positioning in sector to create a winning formula.
  • Build and maintain a balanced mix of account types with UK and Ireland based University/College centric activities.
  • Assist and educate as necessary existing favoured networks i.e Architects - Consultants – Contractors – Cost Consultants on a client by client basis.
  • Kick start University and College Influencer Strategy to gain traction across the country, develop client insight & improve strength of specification as well as D&B Contractor support.
  • Assist clients in writing specifications as required and design (and quote) appropriate systems – taking information from project drawings and specifications.

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent with understanding and experience of lighting from both technical and commercial standpoints.
  • Recognised Management or Leadership Qualification would be an advantage.
  • Good lighting and electrical knowledge with the ability to carry out lighting designs / design briefs
  • Ability to manage accounts professionally and build positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Good networking skills along with strong commercial awareness
  • Good Presentation and Negotiation skills with the ability to communicate technical information in a relevant way to both technical and non-technical customers.
