Social Workers
to join ASCCT in the following areas:

  • Community Team

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the following legislation:

  • The Care Act 2014
  • The Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), including Community DoLS

Court of Protection Social Worker – within the Adult Social Care Community Team.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Social Worker to support individuals involved in Court of Protection proceedings. This role demands a strong understanding of complex legal frameworks and the ability to apply them confidently in practice.

You will be expected to interpret and apply this legislation effectively, ensuring compliance with the Local Authority's statutory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Case-holding Court of Protection matters, including 21A proceedings and Community DoLS.
  • Collaborating with internal legal services and the DoLS team.
  • Providing advice and guidance to colleagues on Court of Protection processes. Supporting with complex decision-making in line with best practice.

Social Worker – Adult Social Care Community Team.
We are looking for a dedicated Social Worker to join the Adult Social Care Community Team.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality, person-centred care through a strength-based approach, carrying out Care Act Assessments to help individuals achieve their desired outcomes. You will work in close partnership with customers, carers, and multi-disciplinary professionals to develop and implement effective support plans.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Conducting Care Act Assessments to identify needs and outcomes.
  • Developing person-centred support plans in collaboration with individuals and their support networks.
  • Managing your own caseload effectively
  • Participating in a duty rota, responding to urgent care enquiries as they arise.

Additional Information:

  • ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) candidates will be considered for this post.

Social Worker – Adult Social Care Community Team - Duty
We are seeking a dynamic and responsive Social Worker to join the Adult social care community team in York – to work within the Duty function of the service.

This role operates in a fast-paced environment, focusing on crisis intervention and resolution. The post holder will not hold an active caseload unless deemed necessary and will play a critical role in managing urgent and unplanned situations as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Care Act Assessments to identify needs and outcomes.
  • Developing person-centred support plans in collaboration with individuals and their support networks.
  • Conducting robust risk assessments and making timely decisions.
  • Communicating effectively with individuals, families, and professionals.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure safe and appropriate interventions.

Social Worker – Adult Social Care Community Team – Front Door
The front door is part of the community team and plays a crucial part of the customer journey. The model is currently under transformation. This post offers opportunities of early intervention to reduce, prevent and delay.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Working as part of an MDT to provide a response at an early stage
  • Taking referrals from various sources, providing suitable information and advice
  • Promoting strength-based practice at all times
  • Providing support to front door colleagues which demonstrates good social work practice
  • Offering advice on key pieces of legislation
  • Assessing risk of new referrals and taking appropriate required actions

Working Arrangements:

  • An office presence is preferred for this role due to its reactive nature – applicants will be required to complete visits as needed throughout the working week.

This role is suitable as a job share opportunity.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.

Hybrid working arrangements can be considered for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
