Tired of being a small cog in a big finance machine?

This accounts assistant role is your chance to step into something more hands-on, more varied and much more meaningful.

You'll be the go-to person for all things finance in a small but impactful organisation that punches well above its weight. And you won't be lost in the middle of nowhere - but you will need a car. It's just outside Warrington centre in a lovely, quiet spot, but public transport isn't your friend here.

You'll earn £28,000 - £30,000 and join on a temporary-to-permanent basis, with a view to going permanent quickly if it's a good fit. They need someone ASAP, so if you're available immediately or on short notice, you're top of the list.

As the accounts assistant, you'll be doing all the usual transactional finance stuff.

Think purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank recs, month-end prep, plus payroll for around 25 people (with support from an external accountant).

This is a small team, so you'll need a good understanding of how a finance function fits together and a willingness to roll your sleeves up wherever needed.

They use Xero, so if you've used it before, that'll help you hit the ground running.

You'll report into a senior non-finance manager, so being comfortable owning your workload and communicating with non-finance people is key. This isn't a role where someone will be checking over your shoulder every five minutes.
