The Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented
Management Accountant
to join our finance team at Achnor Pumps. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end management accounts process, including posting accruals, prepayments, tax entries, fixed assets, and inventory transactions.

You will maintain the fixed asset register, carry out in-depth variance and margin analysis on sales performance, and support bank reconciliations. You will also assist with VAT return preparation and submissions, as well as treasury management tasks such as processing supplier payments and monitoring incoming funds.

Additionally, you will play a key role in the audit process, working closely with both internal stakeholders and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts with full ownership of accruals, prepayments, and tax postings
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee capital expenditure tracking
  • Perform variance analysis, including gross margin and sales trends
  • Support VAT return preparation and timely submission
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage cash flow tracking
  • Process supplier payments and monitor incoming payments
  • Assist in the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors
  • Support continuous improvement within financial processes and reporting

About You

  • ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in producing and delivering management accounts
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a hands-on approach
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
