Our Industrial Placement Programme
Our Industrial Placement Programme offers you the chance to spend a year with us, working on meaningful projects alongside subject matter experts, within multidisciplinary teams, and across the product lifecycle. You'll receive a salary of £25,000, with coaching and support from a dedicated team to help you achieve both your placement objectives and personal development goals.

Successful completion of an Industrial Placement with Leonardo may also lead to an offer on our Graduate Development Programme.

During your placement, we encourage you to spend at least three days each week on site to integrate with your team and maximise your learning experience.

What you will do as an Industrial Placement Project Management

• You will be working in our Integrated Sensing and Protection line of business, based in Southampton/Basildon. The line of business designs, integrates and supplies Intelligence, and electronic products and systems. We work at all stages of the lifecycle from business winning, research and development, through to production and support. We work closely with partners, suppliers and customers to deliver the best outcomes.
• You will get a chance to put your learning and knowledge into practice. During the placement you will experience a range of projects, from technical design to multi-million pound production, with the ability to experience a variety of projects through their lifecycle - bid and capture, project initiation, delivery, repairs and customer support.
• You will gain the essential building blocks and learning to understand your project and prospect data and tools and experience in monitoring and control your projects.
• You will be immersed within a multi-functional Integrated Project Team (IPT) and Project Controls team to gain an understanding of the day-to-day life of a project manager; by the end of the placement you will be equipped with practical experience to support your ongoing development.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
All of our Industrial Placement roles require you to be currently studying a relevant degree discipline such as Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other STEM subject degrees.

We will consider any degree subject and have a preference for Engineering, other STEM subjects, Business or Project Management.

We like our Project Management placement students to be

• Good communicators – both written and verbal
• Able to use all Microsoft Office applications
• Analytical problem solvers, w with the ability to think laterally
• Pro-active and results driven with a "can do" attitude

Security Clearance
This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government's Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
