**Urgent Opening: Head of Human Resources in Luton, Bedfordshire**
BlueGate are excited to announce an opening for the Head of Human Resources to lead our client's people strategy in Luton, Bedfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for the Head of HR to focus on promoting sustainable growth and fostering a high-performing culture. This position will work closely with senior leadership to shape workforce planning, talent development, and organisational design, ensuring that HR initiatives align with the business's long-term objectives.
Key skills:
Ability to shape and drive HR strategy in alignment with organisational goals, influencing culture and long-term workforce planning.
Strong understanding of organisational priorities and the capability to integrate HR initiatives into the overall business strategy.
Collaborative approach when working with the leadership team, ensuring that HR contributes to the organisation's sustainable growth and innovation.
Proficient in leveraging HR analytics and insights to inform decision-making and strategic approaches.
High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information, with a focus on compliance and governance.
Capability to engage, negotiate, and influence at senior levels.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and operational oversight of the HR team.
Coach and develop team members for high performance and growth.
Manage employee relations cases, ensuring fair policy application and compliance.
Lead talent mapping and succession planning for future workforce sustainability.
Partner with senior leaders to align workforce planning with organisational goals.
Drive internal development and career progression opportunities.
Oversee training programs to enhance capabilities and support continuous learning.
Manage apprenticeship and early careers programs to attract emerging talent.
Enhance employer branding to position the organisation as an employer of choice.
Collaborate with leaders to adapt HR processes to strategic priorities.
Lead change management initiatives, including union consultations.
Ensure HR policies remain agile and aligned with organisational needs.
Promote inclusion, engagement, and a high-performance culture.
Monitor employee experience through feedback strategies.
Implement reward and recognition strategies that reinforce organisational values.
Maintain compliance with HR policies and legal requirements.
Build constructive relationships with trade unions.
Oversee recruitment processes for efficiency and positive candidate experiences.
Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and leverage data for innovative solutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification/experience
- Previous experience in
managing apprenticeship schemes
and a sound understanding of the
apprenticeship levy framework - Excellent knowledge of employment practices, processes, and relevant employment legislation.
- Ability to engage effectively with trade unions and manage labour relations issues.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is required
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training programs or implementing learning strategies to build capability.
- Experience in recruitment and workforce planning, including employer branding and talent pipeline development.
