You'll interpret business strategies and existing capabilities from across Co-op and translate them into clear, traceable requirements and process designs that make a real difference to our members, colleagues, and communities.

Why this role matters

As a Strategic Business Analyst at Co-op, you'll be aligned to a portfolio of change within a key area of our business. From there, you'll connect strategic outcomes, project scope, and analysis work packages. We'll then look to you to oversee more detailed analysis carried out by Business Analyst colleagues working across a portfolio of change and delivery.

Ultimately, you'll make sure our strategic plans are translated into detailed, practical steps that lead to successful projects, so the changes we deliver truly support our ambitions.

What you'll do

  • Turn business strategies into clear high-level requirements and end-to-end processes
  • Ensure the 'golden thread' of strategy is carried into detailed requirements and processes within your assigned portfolio
  • Ensure the quality of Business Analysis Services within your assigned portfolio(s)
  • Use enterprise designs and capability analysis to create solutions that work
  • Coach and oversee the work of Business Analysts in the team
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships across Co-op

What you'll bring

  • Experience as a Senior Business Analyst working across many projects in a portfolio of change
  • Expertise in gathering, analysing, and validating business needs at all levels from strategic to detailed
  • Excellent process analysis & mapping within an overall process framework
  • Familiarity with tools like Visio, ARIS, Signavio, and MIRO
  • Expert workshop facilitation that create energy and collaboration, leading to clear, value-adding outputs
  • Experience of working in a large, corporate environment
  • Experience working in a variety of delivery environments (e.g. Project, Programme, Product)
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we're owned by our members. And because we're owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you're not just taking a job, you're joining a movement. We're an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we're powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you'll also receive:

  • Private healthcare
  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream - early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
