Practice Manager (Maternity Cover) – Forest House Dental Practice

Location: Leicester

Contract: Temporary maternity cover (approximately 9 Months)

Start Date: February 2026

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8.30am -17.30pm, 1 hour unpaid lunch (40 hours/week).

Salary: Starting from £28k depending on experience

We are looking for an organised, proactive, and approachable Practice Manager to join our friendly dental team and provide maternity cover from February 2026.

About the Role

As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the practice. You'll ensure compliance with CQC and NHS standards, support the clinical team, manage staff, oversee financial performance, and deliver excellent patient service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of the dental practice and team
  • Diary utilisation, rotas and overall operations
  • Key holder responsibility
  • Ensuring compliance with CQC, GDC, HTM 01-05, and NHS regulations
  • Patient liaison and complaints handling
  • HR recruitment, training, and appraisals
  • Monitoring budgets, invoicing, and financial targets
  • Supporting dentists and clinicians to maintain smooth workflow
  • Overseeing of dental equipment maintenance, repairs and servicing

About You

  • Previous experience in dental or healthcare management (essential)
  • Approachable and helpful
  • IT proficient
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Able to delegate and lead a team
  • Motivated, adaptable and hard working
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving ability
  • Good working knowledge of dental compliance and NHS systems
  • Proficient with SOE dental software
  • Positive attitude and commitment to high-quality patient care
