Our team is building a dynamic network to meet the changing demands for electricity and increasingly, renewable electricity – safely, securely and sustainably in the communities we serve.At SP Energy Networks, we know people are central to building a better future, quicker and we are seeking new talent to join our team.What you'll be doingThe Cartography Team Leader, within Smart Grid Operations, ensures the operational network diagram and database accurately mirror the physical electricity network, a key element of Critical National Infrastructure, while leading a team of cartographers to deliver high-quality outputs and maintain data integrity.Develop and maintain cartography project processes and supporting policy documentation.Line manage a team of nine cartographers, including workload allocation, training, development, and performance reviews.Act as the escalation point for cartography incidents and ensure SLAs are achieved.Review and maintain training documentation to ensure team competency.Provide SCADA database support for new site works, including I/O reviews, PI Tag compilation, primary alarm builds, and 4G commissioning assistance.Test cartography symbols and processes for system improvements.Manage group mailboxes and central request repository for network diagram amendments, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.Produce performance reports and populate the RTS Scorecard.Own and progress individual requests for operational network diagram changes, including validation, liaison with requestors, Data Management, and SCADA engineers.Liaise with external suppliers for maintenance and fault resolution.Contribute positively to RTS team performance through flexibility and collaboration.What You'll BringStrong understanding of SCADA database commissioning processes and RTS systems.Proven line management experience with the ability to train and develop teams.Ability to develop and streamline processes to improve efficiency.Working knowledge of RTS SCADA communication developments, system testing, and diagram/database editing.Understanding of relational and hierarchical databases and electricity network asset representation.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with business IT systems integration.Knowledge of Energy Networks policies and procedures.Excellent communication, planning, and customer service skills.Minimum CriteriaExperience of leading or mentoring a team.Educated to National 5/GCSE standard or equivalent.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.Familiarity with SPEN IT systems, ideally those managed by RTS.  What's in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
