Stonemason Team Leader

Stratum Masonry is a trusted and well-established stone contractor specialising in the conservation and restoration of traditional and historic buildings throughout Scotland. With an expanding portfolio of notable heritage projects, we're growing our team and seeking an experienced Stonemason Team Leader to join us.

About the Role

As a Team Leader, you'll oversee a small group of masons on-site, ensuring excellent workmanship, safe working practices, and efficient productivity. This is a hands-on role where you'll lead by example, carrying out high-quality masonry work while managing day-to-day site activities and maintaining clear communication with management and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise teams on restoration and conservation projects
  • Carry out stone replacement, lime pointing, indenting, dressing, and other masonry tasks
  • Ensure full compliance with on-site health and safety requirements
  • Communicate effectively with management, clients, and suppliers
  • Keep the site clean, organised, and professional at all times
  • Support apprentices and contribute to training within the team

What We're Looking For

  • Time-served stonemason with 5+ years of practical experience
  • Previous experience as a supervisor or team leader
  • Strong understanding of traditional building techniques, materials, and conservation practices
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage people and materials
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
