Overview

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and proactive Health Navigator (GP Receptionist) to join our busy practice. This is a fast-paced and challenging role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while providing outstanding support to patients and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Front Desk Duties:
  • Greet patients in a warm, professional manner
  • Manage patient check-ins and check-outs
  • Support patients with queries, forms, and signposting to appropriate services
  • Telephone & Patient Communication:
  • Answer high volumes of incoming calls in a calm and efficient manner
  • Book, amend, and cancel appointments
  • Provide clear information and advice within the scope of the role
  • Prioritise urgent patient needs and follow correct protocols
  • Administrative Tasks:
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update systems accordingly
  • Process online appointment/Query requests
  • Handle incoming emails, letters, and clinical documents
  • Support the clinical team with general practice administration

About You

  • Experience in a healthcare, customer service, or administrative role (preferred but not essential)
  • Confident handling busy phone lines and face-to-face queries
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Strong IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and empathy
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work as part of a supportive team

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.32-£12.52 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
