Carpenter : Exhibitions & Events – Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced carpenter / joiner, ideally with some experience in the exhibition industry and or event / set building.

Candidates must have sound carpentry and joinery experience that goes beyond first/second fix building carpentry. Much of our work is constructing basic components such as platform floors, wall panels and frames etc. However we also create many customised products and features for exhibition stands such as counters, product displays and all manner of unique timber-engineered features . Candidates will be proficient in the use of hand and power tools as well as bench saws and machinery. We work to a high level of specification and accuracy so being organised with a keen eye for detail is essential.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Knowledgable in carpentry & joinery to high standard of accuracy and finish

  • Capable of accurate bench-work & on-site installations

  • Punctual with excellent time keeping & reliable work ethic

  • Able to use your own initiative on-site and work constructively as part of a team

  • Able to manage workload, organise priority works & manage materials effectively

  • Competent in the use of hand and bench power tools and saws

  • Good communicator, with the ability to deal with clients and suppliers face to face

  • A full clean driving licence; allowing van driving up to 3500kg is essential

  • Maintain the highest standards of work, quality and attention to health & safety

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Direct experience working within exhibitions / events

  • Experience in project management and/or team leadership

  • Own general/hand-tools (larger power tools are provided)
