Property Manager – Residential Block Management
Compton Group is a dynamic, entrepreneurial family-owned group with a head office in Swansea. We have a wide variety of businesses, ranging from property development and investment to selling ceramic tiles and running a tour operator. We now own a portfolio of around 57,000 residential and commercial ground rents and employ 130 people.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in residential block management to join Compton Property Management in a varied and interesting role. We are looking for someone who has proven management and customer service skills, is good at taking on responsibility and has the ability to get things done whilst working under pressure as part of this busy property management team.
The successful person will need to be confident and assertive in dealing with lessees, as well as having excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as this role involves answering enquiries from lessees over the telephone, by email and occasionally face to face. You will also need to be a team player. IT skills and a valid UK driving licence are also necessary.
Property management experience or a legal background would be preferred. If you have letting experience, we would still like to hear from you.
All applicants will either have a TPI qualification or will work toward this through supportive training during the probationary period.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own portfolio of blocks of flats in England and Wales, after initial training and integration into the team.
- Ensuring blocks/sites are compliant with all current Health & Safety and Fire Safety legislation
- Liaising on a variety of legal issues with the in-house legal team of the sister company owning the freehold
- Preparing service charge budgets, to enable funds to be available for all management duties – and accounting for their expenditure through the checking and distribution of year end accounts.
- Dealing with day-to-day maintenance and repair issues, including the sourcing, appointment and management of contractors and suppliers
- Ensuring invoices are allocated and authorised within defined timescales
- Liaising with Lessees for major works in line with the S20 Landlord and Tenant Act
- Undertaking regular site inspections on common parts, recording and taking photographs of blocks and their condition
In return, this is an exciting opportunity to join a successful company within a supportive and friendly environment. We also offer a competitive salary, free parking and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
The selection process will be in 3 stages.
- Please respond to this job advertisement with a CV and a brief explanation as to why you are suitable for the role,
- The next stage would be a telephone interview
- Then a face to face interview.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £25,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company pension
- Employee discount
- On-site parking

- Please detail any property management or legal experience. If you have letting experience, we would still like to hear from you
