Overview:

Stanton House are partnering with a PE-backed technology and services organisation who are seeking a technically strong, hands-on, and detail-oriented Financial Reporting Specialist to take ownership of key financial reporting activities, support the audit process, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of consolidated and subsidiary financial statements. This role will be central to maintaining high-quality financial controls and delivering timely, accurate reporting to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing file notes for audit purposes (e.g. accounting for revenue, litigation and claims, onerous contracts, development costs, RDEC, guarantees, share-based payments, acquisition accounting, etc.)
  • Preparing and reviewing supporting schedules for the audit (e.g. accrued income and deferred income balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing junior staff reconciliations, etc.)
  • Gathering and following up on outstanding information required for the audit
  • Preparing tax packs for specialists to complete corporate tax computations
  • Assisting in the preparation of consolidated and subsidiary financial statements
  • Other financial reporting–related activities as required

Candidate Profile

  • Chartered Accountant (ICAEW or oversees CASA/AUS/NZ) (strong ACCA or CIMA candidates will also be considered where they have substantial financial reporting experience).
  • Preferably trained within a Big 4 firm, or alternatively possessing extensive financial reporting experience gained in industry.
  • Minimum 3-4yrs PQE
  • Hands-on and delivery-focused; this role requires someone who is comfortable taking ownership of tasks and executing the work directly rather than managing a team.
  • Strong technical understanding of financial reporting, with the ability to work independently and add value from day one.
