A live-in Cook and general household support required for a large family house located in the vicinity of Stow on the Wold. The family have two children and this is their primary residence.

The family's main priority is to find a fantastic cook who loves producing good honest food for the family to a dinner party standard. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves cooking delicious food and has a diverse range from family style cooking to entertaining to an excellent level to be a part of this lovely family.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all meals and liaise over menu planning, food preparation and cooking of meals
  • Prepare and plan for any dinner parties, weekend parties or events
  • Ensure that produce from the garden is picked and preserved in the appropriate way according to the seasons
  • Keep the house well-stocked with necessary supplies to include food pantry, wine cellar and household items, while discussing significant purchases the principals
  • Manage the household budget and expenditure

There is a housekeeper so you will not be required to carry out full housekeeping duties on a day to day basis but you would be required to support the housekeeper and run errands for the household to include shopping.

Maintain professional boundaries, knowing when to step back and be discreet

Be security aware ensuring that the property and grounds are always cared for and secure

Keep excellent organisational and time management skills.

Show good initiative, attention to detail, a natural flair and a passion for a job being well done are all critical

Anticipate the Principal's needs with a warm and friendly manner assisting with all their requirements and resolving any issues that may arise

Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week, Thursday to Monday (Tuesdays and Wednesdays off) with on average one weekend off a month.

Salary - £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience
