POSITION SUMMARY
Supports the Quality Manager to identify opportunities for improvement to manufacturing and business processes through application of audits and data analysis. Supports the NPI projects working in the capacity of Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) & Quality Engineer for the NPI project team. Works cross functionally to facilitate root cause investigations and ensure effective resolution of issues. Ensures compliance with ISO 9001, product certifications, internal procedures, and customer requirements. Compiles Failure Analysis reports in response to product failures and returns.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide daily Quality support to NPI and Operations Teams.
- Collect and report First Pass Yield data, initiate root cause analysis and facilitate improvements
- Working with cross functional teams at all levels of the organization, improve products and processes through the application of root cause analysis and corrective actions whilst ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, internal procedures and customer requirements and ensuring that improvements are effective and sustainable.
- Compile Failure Analysis reports in response to product failures.
- Perform internal audits & follow up on activity against ISO 9001, internal procedures, and customer requirements
- Awareness of the requirements of ISO 9001 with experience applying the standard
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to analyze and present data
- Proficient in using SAP type MRP systems
- Experience working in as a Quality Engineer or in a related role within a manufacturing environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, etc.),
- Is used to working with manufacturing personnel at every level.
- Also working in a and fast-paced manufacturing/lab environment
SKILLS:
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Familiar with the application of Quality Systems in the Electronics Industry
- Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices
- Knowledge and application experience with ISO 9001or related Quality Systems.
- Experience with Quality audit and inspection processes
- Experience analyzing data to find potential quality issues as early as possible
- Familiar with basic quality tools such as FMEA, FAIRs, 8D, etc.
- Proficient applying Root Cause Analysis to reach problem resolution
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Very detail oriented, disciplined and process driven
- Able to work across functions at all levels of the organization
EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
Minimum of five years in process quality control within a manufacturing environment.
Desirable:
6-Sigma background.
EDUCATION:
BS in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering
