Position Summary

This role is responsible for supporting the commercial setup and execution of hotel openings and transitions across all Marriott brands in the EMEA region. The position ensures that each property opens or transitions on strategy, with optimal business on the books, and in alignment with Marriott's commercial standards.

The Manager collaborates with Franchisees, Hotel Teams, Area Teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver successful openings and transitions while maintaining strong relationships and ensuring effective post-opening handovers.

Key Responsibilities

Openings & Transitions

  • Deliver pre-opening and transition processes for a portfolio of hotel projects across EMEA.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously using the Critical Path online tool.
  • Monitor project status and communicate progress to the Senior Manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner with Franchisees and Area Teams to assess and agree on the level and cost of commercial support.
  • Attend and lead RAMP and Kick-off Meetings (virtual or in person).
  • Validate Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management plans with Franchisees and Area Teams.
  • Ensure accurate completion of data packets and visibility across commercial channels.
  • Coordinate training and task force schedules across commercial disciplines.
  • Host regular calls with hotel teams to guide pre-opening tasks.
  • Align and communicate first sell dates and opening/transition dates with stakeholders.
  • Host (virtual or in person) Countdown preparations.
  • Ensure positive opening/transition survey results.
  • Support effective handovers to the Commercial Performance Team within 45 days of opening.

Account Management

  • Serve as liaison between hotel ownership, brand, and market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Franchisees, Owners, and Hotel Teams.
  • Provide guidance on brand standards and policy interpretation.
  • Foster adherence to standards and support brand growth through strong relationship management.

Administration

  • Maintain and update all electronic documents and systems related to openings and transitions.
  • Identify commercial training needs and act as liaison to hotel teams and owners.
  • Champion brand and commercial strategies with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support execution of annual brand standards and Quality Assurance updates.
  • Manage project work assigned by the Director of Openings.

Other

  • Perform other duties as required to meet business needs.
  • Travel required (approximately 20%).
  • Position is office-based.
  • Offered as a 12-month fixed-term assignment, with potential for renewal or permanent conversion based on performance and business requirements.

Job-Specific Skills

  • Strong negotiation and issue resolution capabilities.
  • Excellent relationship-building and account management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Marriott commercial systems (e.g., MARSHA, One Yield, Product Catalog, HPP, eFAST).
  • Technical proficiency; strong computer literacy with all Microsoft applications.
  • Working knowledge of brand standards across all Marriott brands.
  • Understanding of pricing, yield management, and loyalty programs.
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage upward and influence change.
  • Strong listening skills with ability to resolve issues constructively.
  • Ability to integrate and interpret multiple sources of information.

Candidate Profile – Key Talents and Experience Desired

Required

  • Minimum 2 years in Sales, Marketing, or Revenue Management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business drivers.
  • Proven hotel industry experience across multiple revenue streams.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience evaluating business trends and enhancing performance.
  • European languages an advantage.
