Senior Associate – Corporate (5+ PQE) | City of London

This Top 100 firm is looking to recruit a Senior Associate to join its thriving Corporate team. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to a broad range of corporate transactions and the opportunity to play an active part in shaping the department's continued growth.

The Corporate group advises on all aspects of buying, selling, structuring and investing in businesses. Working closely with colleagues in Banking, Real Estate, Tax and Employment, the team delivers a complete service to clients ranging from start-ups and owner-managed businesses to financial institutions, private investors and mid-market corporates.

  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Corporate restructurings and reorganisations
  • Private equity and venture capital
  • Joint ventures and shareholder agreements
  • Fundraising and investment
  • LLPs and partnerships

The Role

As a Senior Associate, you'll work directly with the Head of Department and other senior lawyers on complex, high-value transactions. The role combines technical responsibility with client contact and business development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing your own portfolio of corporate transactions from instruction to completion
  • Drafting and negotiating heads of terms, SPAs, disclosure letters and ancillary documents
  • Overseeing due diligence and coordinating with clients, advisers and counterparties
  • Providing strategic structuring advice at the outset of deals
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Contributing to business development and client relationship initiatives

About You

  • 5+ years' PQE gained at a recognised corporate practice
  • Strong experience running M&A transactions (both share and asset deals)
  • Confident managing client relationships and leading on deals with minimal supervision
  • Excellent drafting, communication and analytical skills
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach and commercial awareness
  • Interest in contributing to business development and mentoring juniors
