Are you passionate about childcare and looking for additional or flexible hours?

We have an immediate opportunity to join our team as a "Butterfly" (Bank) covering staff holidays and training.

Angel Day Nursery is a privately owned nursery dedicated to providing a warm, caring, and cheerful environment for children aged 5 months to 5 years. Located in a quiet residential area, we prioritize happiness for both children and staff, ensuring a family-like atmosphere where everyone can thrive.

About the Role

As a Butterfly you would be required to work alongside our key staff to provide high quality childcare and teaching. You should be flexible with the age range you work with and the days and hours you work. We are seeking an enthusiastic team player who can adapt to change with a positive "can do" attitude. You will have regard for safeguarding at all times and report into senior staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising play-based activities to support learning and development.
  • Observing and assessing children's progress, helping to keep accurate records.
  • Preparing snacks and mealtimes, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Communicating effectively with team members, parents and guardians.
  • Enjoying outdoor play, outings, and embracing creative and messy activities

Employment start subject to pre employment checks: Enhanced DBS, References, Qualification Check, ID checks

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 2 or above childcare qualification (Level 3 training opportunities available).
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a similar childcare role is required
  • A childcare qualification is preferred, but experience working with children would be considered

Working Hours

  • 0 hours - Flexible: Up to 40 hours per week.
  • Can be paid weekly

Location & Requirements

  • Based in Cheltenham – applicants must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting.
  • GCSE or equivalent required.
  • Nursery/Childcare experience (1+ year preferred).

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Zero hours contract

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: £12.50-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 37 per week
