We are now looking for a Collections Driver to join our Logistics department. This is a vital role with the following responsibilities and requirements:-

General Purpose

A Collections Driver is responsible for collecting end of life tyres from our customers on an agreed daily schedule. Drivers are required to maintain their vehicle and drive in a courteous and professional manner whilst following all road safety and vehicle rules. At all times, interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

· Collect end-of-life tyres from our customers in the Northwest & North Wales area.

· Load and unload tyres on the vehicle adhering to Risk Assessments and Safe Working Procedures.

· Stacking tyres on the vehicle to maximise collections capacity

· Complete daily vehicle checks and complete vehicle defects form at the beginning of each shift.

· Report all defects to the Logistics Manager.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

· An ability to concentrate ensuring road safety

· Knowledge of the roads and networks in the local area

· A clean driving record and a U.K. Driver's licence

· Good customer care skills

· Being able to work well independently

· The ability to remain calm under pressure, for instance, when driving in inclement weather conditions

· Basic knowledge of computers, handheld devices and relevant electronic applications

· Good communication skills to follow instructions, work with colleagues and deal with customers

· This is a physically demanding job, therefore high stamina and strength is required to on and off load tyres

Successful candidate may be required to undergo DBS check and referencing.

Essential requirements

  • Commercial driving experience - 3.5 tonne vehicle or larger
  • Labour-intensive experience
  • Ability to work outside
  • Good level of fitness
  • Technical ability on mobiles and with apps
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Team player
  • Good communication skills
