About British Cycling
British Cycling exists to bring the joy of cycling to everyone.
We have embarked on an exciting new journey, with a modernised commercial and events offering grounded in social impact and storytelling, harnessing the spotlight and inspiration of our athlete's performance on the world stage, and our growing portfolio of major events.
We are working towards our three key priorities outlined in our strategy; to support and grow the sport to make cycling more inclusive and accessible, to lead on the world stage by winning and winning well, and to drive social impact by tackling inequalities through providing opportunities.
What will you be doing?
Every woman and girl should have equal opportunity, confidence and access when it comes to cycling. Sadly, we're not there yet.
We're looking for a Programmes Lead to help influence our strategy and drive programmes in this vital area for British Cycling.
You'll be developing programmes, influencing strategy and working with a vast array of stakeholders (both internal and external).
You will:
- Lead the development of inclusive participation programmes (e.g. Breeze) designed to focus and increase the number of women and girls cycling.
- Influence strategic thinking and direction.
- Use data and insight to identify barriers and inform direction.
- Oversee the end-to-end project management of programmes - from initial concept right through to national launch.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners, communities and stakeholders to remove barriers (perceived and actual) and deliver programmes nationwide.
- Champion change and be an advocate for equality for women and girls in cycling.
- Monitor progress, programme impact and share stories that demonstrate success.
What we're looking for:
In a nutshell, you'll be strategic, work well with others and be brilliant at turning ideas into action.
In a bit more detail…
- Have a strong understanding of the challenges and inequalities women and girls face in accessing physical activity.
- You'll be experienced in developing and managing programmes focused on underrepresented audiences.
- You'll be experienced in managing budgets and partnerships.
- You'll have a proven track record of managing projects.
- You'll be able to communicate well at all levels.
- You'll have a proven track record of working collaboratively across teams and organisations to deliver shared goals.
- While an understanding of cycling is preferable, it's essential that you have a passion for getting more women and girls active.
What are the perks?
- A competitive salary
- Generous holidays (25 days + bank holidays)
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Holiday purchase scheme
- Pension
- Life assurance
- Two days a week in Manchester with hybrid working options to support work-life balance
