Salary Circa £55,000 (DOE)
Location:
Glasgow, with travel to client sites
We are seeking applications from experienced Project Managers to deliver multiple engineering and fabrication projects for out Glasgow based client. Working from initiation to close, you will be accountable for overall direction, coordination, implementation, control and completion, with specific responsibility for scope, schedule, cost, quality and risk. You will also support the sales team with bid activity and future opportunity development.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of concurrent projects, coordinating internal teams and third party vendors.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget, with robust change, risk and issue control.
- Define and agree project scopes and objectives with all relevant stakeholders, ensuring technical compliance with client requirements and certification bodies.
- Build and maintain detailed project plans, track progress, measure performance and provide timely reporting and escalation.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Contribute to bid preparation and proposal submissions to secure future work.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment and adhere to Company, Group and Client HSEQ policies and procedures.
- Uphold financial discipline, forecasting accurately and operating in line with company financial policies.
About you
You are a self starting project professional who communicates clearly, manages stakeholders confidently and performs effectively under pressure and to deadlines. You combine strong leadership with attention to detail, planning and time management, and can present to multiple stakeholders.
Essential experience and skills
- Direct experience in a project management capacity within heavy engineering and fabrication.
- Knowledge of project management methods, techniques, tools and a gate model execution approach.
- Excellent client facing and internal communication skills, with strong negotiation ability and commercial awareness, including budgeting.
Desirable sector exposure
Experience in one or more of: marine industry, offshore wind, nuclear civil engineering, or engineering and manufacturing with hands on understanding of modern manufacturing and welding techniques.
Qualifications
- Qualification in Project Management or a relevant Engineering discipline is required.
- Chartered status with APM or working towards is desirable
