Overview

We are seeking a dedicated GateHouse Officer to join our security team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment across our premises. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in security operations and loss prevention, with a focus on surveillance and emergency response. The House Officer will be responsible for monitoring activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and assisting with incident management.

Duties

  • Conduct regular surveillance patrols across the premises to identify potential security risks.
  • Monitor CCTV systems continuously to observe and record activities, ensuring all areas are secure.
  • Assist in loss prevention efforts by recognising suspicious behaviour and preventing theft or vandalism.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, providing first aid when necessary and liaising with emergency services as required.
  • Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes.
  • Enforce access control procedures, verifying authorised entry and exit of personnel and visitors.
  • Support the security team during special events or high-traffic periods to ensure safety measures are upheld.
  • Follow established protocols for emergency situations, including evacuations and medical emergencies.

Experience

  • Prior experience in security or surveillance roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring systems is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of loss prevention techniques is desirable.
  • Certification or training in first aid is mandatory; training opportunities will be available for successful candidates.
  • Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
