We are seeking to recruit a Research Manager to join our Upstream Oil & Gas Global Analyst research team in Gurgaon. Our dedicated oil and gas sector teams are located around the world, and deliver research and consulting projects based on our assessment and valuation of thousands of individual assets. Together we work with a range of clients including national and major oil companies, operators, investment banks and institutional investors.
About the role:
As part of a world-class group of industry experts, you will lead a team of upstream associates in the delivery of the Global Upstream Service, including upstream asset coverage, data analysis and written content. You will support regional teams on product generation and insights across the globe. You will recruit, develop and retain the right people while establishing a supportive and dynamic team environment that champions attention to detail and excellence.
You will ensure a high level of quality in all content, data, systems or operations is consistently delivered by your team. In partnership with the managers of the Regional Research teams, you will ensure the efficient and timely delivery of our Global Upstream Service, which will include the update of asset data, valuations and written reports.
You will work closely with your team to set clear goals based on their development and business needs. You will collaborate with the Head of the Metals & Mining Global Analyst Team and the other Research Managers to build state-of-the-art hiring, onboarding and development processes.. You will work closely with senior experts across the business to build strong coaching relationships across the Global Analyst Team.
You will foster collaboration with other teams and maintain close alignment with Upstream stakeholders. You will ensure data integrity and best practices are followed. You will lead your team to further differentiate our analysis and advocate for the requisite data and resources to deliver a market-leading service.
You will embrace change and play a key role in the implementation of new working practices within your team and across the upstream business. Managing budgets, plans, policies and programmes related to your team will also be a focus.

You have an analytical, commercial mindset and can formulate leading-edge analysis from a variety of data and information. This is coupled with your ability to communicate highly complex or technical information, delivering verbal and written messages that are easily understood. You have a good understanding of the energy sector gained in previous roles.
You are keen to develop your management and leadership skills, having previously led or coached others or a small to mid-sized team. Playing a part in setting the business priorities, including the technical direction of your team, is important to you in how you lead, evaluate and develop your team of professionals.
