Heavy Plant Fitter

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter to join one of the North West's most dynamic and fast-growing infrastructure services businesses.

With decades of experience in road surfacing, civil engineering, and recycled construction products, we pride ourselves on delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard — supporting local and national authorities, Tier 1 contractors, and private clients alike.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled Heavy Plant Fitter to join our team at our head office to assist with machine maintenance and repairs and responding to emergency call outs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Predominantly workshop based but there will be occasions where you will need to respond to breakdowns and carry out on site repairs
  • Carry out pre hire inspections to plant and machinery
  • Carryout annual inspections to plant and machinery
  • Investigating and diagnosing faults, reporting findings as required
  • Carry out services, repairs and preventative maintenance to plant, machinery and HGV's

Vehicles.

  • Fill out appropriate paperwork regarding servicing/inspections and job sheets
  • Act upon vehicle defects reports

Experience/skills required

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in heavy equipment service and repair
  • NVQ/ apprenticeship in heavy plant maintenance or equivalent – Desirable
  • Strong understanding of mechanics, pneumatics, electrics, and diesel engines
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Be able to weld and fabricate
  • CSCS card – Desirable
  • HGV driving licence – Desirable
  • Full UK driving licence – Essential
  • Candidate must have own tools.
