About the Role

The Senior Financial Accountant plays a key role in our Financial Reporting team, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely internal and external reporting across multiple entities within the Group. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, you'll be instrumental in driving improvements in financial processes, supporting statutory compliance, and contributing to the continuous development of a high-performing finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries (fixed assets, prepayments, payroll, accruals, FX, etc.) and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard.
  • Provide detailed P&L and balance sheet variance analysis and commentary for management reporting.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles, meeting tight deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Own several key trading entities within the Group, ensuring compliance with all statutory and external reporting requirements.
  • Oversee preparation of annual financial statements under FRS 102/IFRS and coordinate external audits.
  • Manage regulatory filings, including statutory accounts and tax submissions, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Receivable teams to maintain strong working capital management.
  • Maintain weekly bank reconciliations and manage intercompany transfers to ensure sufficient liquidity across entities.
  • Act as the primary contact for external banking relationships, managing user access and approval controls.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to optimize systems, workflows, and reporting tools.
  • Support testing and implementation of new financial systems and enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).

Experience:

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including FRS 102 and IFRS.
  • Experience with internal and external reporting requirements and finance processes
  • Background in accounting practice desirable, but not essential.
