Distribution Center Manager

As Distribution Center Manager, your focus will be on managing the warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, and implementing cost improvement measures. This includes overseeing the logistics operations and working closely with the supplier and logistics.
- This role is responsible for creating and managing sustainable processes to manage the procedures, services, and costs related to outsourced warehousing.
- Ensure logistics fulfillment.
- Manages 3PL / warehouse operations to meet customer's order & requirements.
- Manages inbound flow, put away strategy.
- Implements tools to optimize space utilization.
- Ensures pick/pack efficiency & productivity.
- Play with Transport Management System (TMS) Optilo to optimize load and route planning.
- Manages returns & reverse logistics.
- Ensure strict compliance with company safety policies and manage necessary documentation.
- Ensures efficiency and cost-effectiveness of operations.
- Realizes productivity targets.
- Deliver best-in-class Customer Service & Service as a differentiator.
- Increases customer satisfaction by improving quality and delivery.
- Enables Customer Collaboration/Visibility.
- Manages performance of the function and builds capabilities KPI's.
- Integral Cycle Time (Time to Market).
- Inventory Accuracy.
- Zero Accidents.
- Cost / Volume productivity gain %.
- Integration of Warehouse and Distribution Total Costs (IWD cost %).
- Cost of Org.
- Delivery Measurement Reliability KPIs (DRM ER -Distribution-).
More About You
While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:
- At least 5 years of working experience in a logistics environment.
- Excellent coordination and supervisory skills in a Warehouse environment.
- Strong and fluent communication skills in English are required for this role.
- High levels of customer service, able to deal with logistics providers and suppliers.
- KPI driven with a strong focus on data analysis and performance metrics.
- Previous experience working on cost improvement/reductions/control would be appreciated.
- Experience with continuing the improvement process (Lean) would be ideal.
- Proficient in using Excel and, ideally, Warehouse Management Systems and Transport Management Systems (WMS, TMS).
- Speed and execution focused.
- Able to be based in our warehouse in Derby for at least 3 days a week to oversee the warehouse operations.
