We Are Recruiting For A Lead Cable Hand
- Salary up to £55,000 based on basic hours, overtime, and travel time
- Job type: Full time and Permanent
This opportunity has arisen from our ongoing success and growth in the renewable energy sector. We are looking for a Lead Cable Hand.
As part of the Operations Team, you will be responsible for ensuring all projects are installed and commissioned in line with Company procedures, within the agreed timeframe and with due regard to Health, Safety and Wellbeing in line with Powersystems' strategy.

Duties and responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to:
Attend and provide input to regular meetings with Site Manager/Site Supervisor to ensure efficient and effective supervision.
Prepare for and complete internal and external audits with Site Manager and SHEQ team.
Ensure all tools, equipment and material are kept in good working order and any defects rectified in a timely manner.
Liaise with Site Manager and Project Engineer/Manager to co-ordinate all planned works.
Successfully complete and implement SSSTS course and be the main point of contact for the cabling installation
Efficiently lead cable installation teams including assisting with the installation of cabling, earthing and testing.
Assist electricians, jointers and any other trade with general works.
Carry out toolbox talks and daily briefings to staff
Monitor, manage and report on performance of staff on site.
Set out jobs/tasks from drawings and specifications and requisition the necessary installation materials.
Proactively identify and health and safety issues and remedy in a timely manner.
Identify scope changes and assist Site Manager/Project Manager with quoting works.
Proactively suggest improvements and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) as appropriate.
Identify any potential issues and delays.
Contribute to the future success of Powersystems and clients
Proactively look at ways to enhance the service offered by the business, and improve the efficiency of company processes
Uphold a professional image, contribute to Powersystems' success, and proactively improve services and efficiency.

Here's what you need to be successful in the role:
3 years' experience in installing cables of various types and methods.Supervisory capacity in charge of complex electrical installations or have exceptional technical skill, ability and experience beyond that of previous position.
Successfully completed and implement SSSTS training
Minimum of 2-3 years' relevant experience of electrical engineering within the electrical contracting or utility industries.
Able to follow business processes whilst managing multiple time pressured tasks.
Strong organisational, time management, IT (MS Office), and report writing skills, with excellent spoken and written English.
Ability to clearly communicate technical and commercial information, negotiate effectively, and contribute to a dynamic team.
Adaptable, resilient, proactive, willing to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays, and holds a full UK driving licence.
Desirable criteria:
Experience of work within the high voltage sector.
