Nursery Cook

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team in the role of Nursery Cook.

The successful candidate will be a warm and caring individual who will be involved in preparing, cooking, and attractively presenting meals and buffets for children, staff and functions when required.

Duties

• To prepare and cook nutritionally balanced meals appropriate for under-fives in accordance with the nutritional guidance for the under-fives.
• Cooking and presenting dishes according to established recipes.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
• Supporting the team during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow
• Adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times during food handling and service in accordance with the Food Standard Agency and Cook Safe

Requirements

• 2 Years prior experience in food preparation, cooking in a kitchen environments is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards (Food Hygiene Cert Level 2 or above)
• You will be required to undergo a PVG check as part of our recruitment process
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and act on their own initiative.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a warm and caring personality.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
