At our East Ardsley nursery, we are looking for a confident Room Leader to lead high-quality practice, support staff and ensure every child receives warm, nurturing and inspiring care.

As Room Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day running of your room, ensuring the environment is safe, stimulating and aligned with the EYFS and our nature-inspired ethos. You'll support planning, lead your team, champion safeguarding and build strong relationships with children and families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the room team to deliver high-quality, child-led learning
  • Supporting and mentoring staff to maintain excellent practice
  • Overseeing daily routines, planning and the learning environment
  • Ensuring effective key person practice and positive family relationships
  • Monitoring children's progress and supporting targeted next steps
  • Promoting children's emotional wellbeing, curiosity and independence
  • Ensuring strong supervision, safety and safeguarding
  • Maintaining a purposeful, organised and inclusive learning space
  • Completing observations, assessments and required documentation
  • Working collaboratively with management, SENCO, Forest School and colleagues

What we're looking for:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Strong understanding of EYFS and child development
  • Experience leading a room or acting as senior practitioner
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
  • Supportive, positive and able to motivate others
  • Calm, nurturing and reflective approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and high-quality practice
  • Ability to work well as part of a supportive team

Desirable: Forest School interest, SEND experience, Paediatric First Aid.
