We are now seeking an experienced Immigration Solicitor to join our growing team and manage a varied caseload of immigration and asylum matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a wide range of UK immigration, asylum, and nationality cases, from initial consultation to completion.
- Advise clients on visa applications, sponsorship, human rights, deportation, detention, judicial review, and appeals before the Immigration Tribunals.
- Prepare and submit applications, representations, and appeals to the Home Office, First-tier Tribunal, and Upper Tribunal.
- Conduct client meetings, provide accurate and timely legal advice, and maintain high standards of client care.
- Draft witness statements, grounds of appeal, and other legal submissions.
- Maintain detailed case management records in compliance with SRA and Lexcel standards.
- Keep up to date with immigration law and policy changes, ensuring compliance and best practice.
- Support and supervise junior staff or paralegals where necessary.
- Contribute to the firm's development through marketing, business growth initiatives, and maintaining positive client relationships.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with a valid Practising Certificate.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Immigration and Asylum Law.
- Strong knowledge of Home Office procedures, EUSS, Sponsorship Licence, Judicial Review, and Appeals.
- Excellent advocacy, drafting, and client care skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with case management systems (LEAP experience preferred).
- Commitment to professional development and compliance with regulatory standards.
Desirable:
- Experience supervising junior fee earners or trainees.
- Accreditation under the Law Society's Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme (IAAS).
