Platform Engineer

Need Overview
The primary purpose of this role is to support the AI team by managing and maintaining the platforms necessary for their work, including the setup and ongoing support of the LangGraph platform and Weaviate database on VM or OCP environments. In addition, you will assist the team with application development, leveraging your Python and data engineering skills to help build and optimize AI-driven solutions. Your expertise in infrastructure and data management will ensure the team has a reliable, scalable, and high-performing environment for their AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain LangGraph platform and Weaviate database on VM and​/​or OCP environments.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability, ensuring high uptime and quick issue resolution.
  • Implement and maintain robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Manage user access, security, and permissions for platform components.
  • Provide technical support to users and respond to incidents within agreed SLAs.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Automate deployment and management tasks using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to optimize resource usage and cost.

Data Engineering & Gen AI (Preferred):

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines in Python for data ingestion, processing, and transformation.
  • Integrate data sources with Weaviate and LangGraph for advanced analytics and AI applications.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all pipelines.
  • Support the team in leveraging generative AI capabilities using Python.
  • Develop scripts and tools for data analysis, model training, and deployment.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in generative AI and recommend best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience administering platforms on VM and​/​or OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and platform monitoring using ELK or similar tool.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux administration, networking, and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Weaviate and LangGraph (or similar vector databases).
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI​/​CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of generative AI concepts and practical applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
