EveryChild Contact Services is looking for Sessional Contact Supervisors to join our pool of Contact Supervisor at our centres in Dagenham. You will facilitate Contact Session for children and young people under Cafcass, some of who are living at home with one parent, living with some of their family members or in the care of a Local Authority. Your role will be to act as a member of EveryChild team with the purpose of facilitating contact between children and their parents within a safe and neutral environment. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare and identity of all the children who use our service is paramount in the work you will do.

The role will require you to be an excellent communicator and be able to build positive relationships between the child and their family.

Contact may take place in a variety of settings including secure contact centres, video link, or out in the community. You will need to be confident in your ability to work alone and with minimal supervision and able to communicate and engage with children and parents and diffuse any difficult situations as they arise.

You should be able to complete contact reports from home and email your written reports within 48hours and securely to the Centre Co-ordinator.

Salary

£ ph dependent on experience

Weekday and Weekend shifts available

Requirement/Skills

  • Fair knowledge of the principles of the Children Act 1989/2004
  • good risks assessment skills
  • Being curious and possess good observational skill
  • Good report writing skills
  • Driver's license and access to use of their car will be a bonus which is covered by business insurance, but not essential
  • Be able to work flexible working hours include weekday and Saturday (some evenings) will be an advantage.

You will be encouraged to share new ideas that could bring about positive change that will help us to continuously improve outcomes for our vulnerable children.

You will have access to the Training, National Association for Child Contact Centre training and regular supervision.

The role will require you to agree for an enhanced criminal record bureau check.

Teaching and Early Years Child Care

Health & Social Care Professionals

NVQ 3 & above

Students studying for their degree
