Night Concierge / Out-of-Hours Presence Officer (Part-Time)

About the Role

Red Supported Living CIC is recruiting a part-time Night Concierge to provide evening and overnight presence across our supported housing properties in Ferryhill and Chilton.

This role focuses on visibility, safety, and escalation, not support work or maintenance. The Night Concierge provides reassurance, monitors properties, responds to incidents, and acts as the first point of contact out of hours.

This role is ideal for someone calm, confident, and reliable, who is comfortable working evenings and being on-call overnight.

Hours

• Part-time, flexible hours: approximately 16–20 hours per week per person

Evening shifts (typically 6pm–10pm or 7pm–11pm).

Shifts are shared across a small team to provide coverage across the week.

• Evening shift: typically 6pm–10pm or 7pm–11pm
• Overnight on-call: phone-based, with rare attendance if required
• Part-time hours
• Local travel between properties

Key Responsibilities

• Evening visits across multiple properties to provide visible presence
• Carrying out simple checks (fire alarms, communal areas, fire doors – visual only)
• Logging issues and incidents using our digital system (SafetyCulture)
• Responding to CCTV alerts where required
• Acting as first out-of-hours contact for tenants
• Escalating incidents appropriately (ambulance, police, crisis team)
• Attending properties overnight only when necessary (e.g. access issues, securing a property, lock changes)
• Keeping clear records of all actions taken

What This Role Is NOT

• Not a support worker role
• Not personal care
• Not enforcement or security
• Not a maintenance or trade role

This is a presence and escalation role, with clear boundaries.

Essential Requirements

• Calm, confident, and not easily intimidated
• Comfortable attending properties in the evening/night
• Able to follow procedures and decision rules
• Good communication skills
• Basic practical ability (e.g. securing doors, changing simple locks)
• Able to use a smartphone and follow digital checklists
• Local to the area
• Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
• Transport:

A car, moped, or other reliable transport is desirable, as the role involves visiting multiple properties during a shift. All properties are located close together within the local area.

Ideal (but not essential)

• Experience in housing, supported accommodation, concierge, security, or similar
• Experience working with vulnerable adults
• Familiarity with lone working

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
