Maintenance Technician

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to sit within a key team to
resolve, repair issues and maintain equipment in our Bedford DC.
This is a full time position and is a 6 months secondment, working alongside the Site Operations team and report to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.
Sunday - Thursday 10:00am - 18:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Setting and maintaining high standards across all site facilities.
- Collaborating with third-party contractors to ensure timely and effective repairs.
- Supporting the implementation of a new Computerised Maintenance Management System (Zoidii).
- Ensuring compliance with national standards and specifications.
- Carrying out planned maintenance tasks and ensuring schedules are followed.
- Responding swiftly to breakdowns, communicating clearly, and resolving issues efficiently.
- Assisting with quotes, project work, and general equipment upkeep.
- Driving continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sharing feedback.
Skills And Experience
- A trade qualification at Level 2 or higher (e.g. plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Engineering qualification or experience.
- Experience in setting and upholding site standards.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse maintenance including: Racking, dock doors, lifting systems, sprinklers, lighting, power distribution, plumbing, joinery and general repairs.
- Skilled in using power and hand tools in an industrial environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both within the team and across operations.
