Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared on time and meet quality expectations.
  • Handle any customer complaints or feedback regarding food quality or service.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary trends.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and management.
