Trainee Dental Nurse/Receptionist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trainee Dental Nurse that is already on the Dental Nursing Course to join our friendly, long standing, dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires strong communication and organisational skills, as well as a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and ready for use.
- Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring comfort and addressing any concerns or questions patients may have.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans, using IT systems effectively.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
- Manage appointment schedules and follow-up communications with patients to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dental surgery, including sterilisation of instruments and disposal of waste materials.
- Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient experience and improve practice efficiency.

Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Nurse or in a similar healthcare role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and nursing practices.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Excellent IT skills to manage patient records and scheduling systems efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear information to patients regarding their treatment plans.
