FP&A Analyst, Process & Transformation Focus - 6 month FTC

Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
FP&A Analyst
to join our dynamic Finance team. This unique role will be instrumental in driving efficiency and managing key data assets during a period of significant business transformation. The successful candidate will focus heavily on
optimising existing financial planning and reporting processes
,
onboarding a newly upskilled team
, leading the
development and finalisation of margin and profitability databases
, and providing direct analytical support for company-wide transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Efficiency (40%)

  • Identify and execute process improvements across budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close cycles, focusing on streamlining workflows, enhancing accuracy, and reducing reporting timelines.
  • Document current and future state financial processes, creating clear Standard Operating Procedures and training materials.
  • Implement and maintain automation tools and techniques to minimise manual data manipulation and maximize team productivity.
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators for process efficiency and data quality.

Team Onboarding & Enablement (30%)

  • Lead the onboarding and training of a newly upskilled FP&A team, ensuring a rapid and effective transition into their roles.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training sessions on new systems, databases (e.g., margin database), reporting tools, and standardised financial processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and first point of contact for process and system-related queries from the new team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, data governance, and best practice adoption within the team.

Margin Database Management (20%)

  • Take ownership of the development, finalisation, and maintenance of margin and profitability databases.
  • Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment between source systems and the reporting database.
  • Design and implement robust data validation and quality checks to ensure accurate margin analysis.
  • Develop standardised reporting templates utilizing the final margin database to provide timely, granular insights into product, customer, and channel profitability.

Transformation Support (10%)

  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support for strategic business transformation projects.
  • Assist in modelling the financial impact of proposed transformation changes and tracking benefits realization post-implementation.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Financial Analysis, or a related finance role.
  • Proven experience in process mapping, documentation, and improvement
  • Strong proficiency with financial planning systems (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing, manipulating, and reporting large datasets; strong SQL or database querying skills are highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience in developing and delivering training materials.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
