Due to our ongoing expansion, fantastic opportunity arisen for an experienced 7.5t driver or 12.5t to join a well renowned and long established family food service business in Accrington. Approx 15-25 multi drop deliveries per day of various food products to customers within an area in and around the North West driving a dual compartment 7.5t or 12.5t refrigerated vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time Permanent

The role is Monday to Friday 5am start till finish, with an average of 42.5 working hrs per week. No working at weekends.

Hours worked is monitored over a 13 week period and if the average is over 42.5 then any hours owed are then given back at times when the business is quieter in school holidays.

7.5T Driver Salary: £30,000 /year - £572 per week

12.5T Driver Salary £32,500 /year - £625 per week

Paid fortnightly by BACS, working first week in hand.

28 days holiday - 20 days hol + 8 bank holidays, accrued over a 12 month period

Requirements

NB: Candidates must have a driving license enabling them to drive a 7.5t vehicle or above and have either

a/ "grandfather rights" (date against C1) on their UK license and passed there driving test in or before 1996.

b/ alternatively hold a valid current digital tacho card with a minimum 1 years before expiry.

Drivers load there own vehicles so product is hand lifted onto the van and orders are picked from invoice when taking off the van, so at times this can be a physically demanding role so you must also be physically fit, not afraid of heavy lifting and hard work when needed, highly motivated with a "can do" attitude.

Candidates must have no more than 3 points on there UK license.

Candidates to have 3 years of multi drop delivery experience. This is not critical but will be viewed as advantageous.

As you are delivering to set customers, over time you get to know the customers well and you become the first face of the company so excellent customer service skills and polite manner are vital.

Qualifications and Skills

  • manual Handling training (preferred)
  • GCSE C or above in Maths & English (preferred)
  • NB: Please note proof of driving license & (or) cpc card and tacho card needs to be brought to interview if successful in reaching this stage
