Role Overview:

Based within the Domestic Abuse Team the purpose of the role is to provide a high quality solution focused service for victims of domestic abuse; assessing those at highest risk, providing safety planning, crisis intervention and appropriate support and advocacy to minimise the risk posed to victims and their children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of clients, including those classed as high and medium risk, in order to reduce risk and keep victims safe;
  • Work within a multi-agency framework through the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) to manage and minimise risk;
  • Support victims through the criminal justice system and relevant court orders;
  • Support victims and their families to be able to take control and move on with their lives.

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

  • Experience of working directly with victims of domestic abuse, advocacy and support work
  • Detailed knowledge of the working practices around domestic abuse, the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) process and statutory agency responsibilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of the needs of victims of domestic abuse and the impact on themselves and their children and families
  • Thorough understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant court orders
